Solid State Power Distribution Units (SSPDU)

The RT-SSPDU family consists of advanced Solid State Power Distribution Units (SSPDUs) built around SSPC boards from Power Device Corporation (PDC), USA.

Solid State Power Controllers provide significant benefits over conventional switching and protection technologies like Relays and Circuit Breakers since they overcome many challenges associated with electro-mechanical devices. This, combined with the relatively very high MTBF provided by SSPCs, weight and space reduction etc. make them attractive to high-reliability applications in Military Ground Vehicles, UAVs and Aircrafts.

Primarily designed for 28V DC power distribution, the RT-SSPDU series also supports configurations for 48V DC, 270V DC, and 110V AC.

The standard COTS module is 19-inch rack-mountable, with customizable form factors available to meet specific customer requirements. The SSPDUs are engineered to comply with key military standards, including MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-1275E, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461F, ensuring reliability in demanding environments.

Optional features include local switching control via a toggle switch matrix for selected output channels and a panel mounted Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD). However, the primary control method is remote communication through Ethernet, CANbus or RS485, offering seamless integration with external systems.

The SSPDUs come equipped with user-friendly GUI software compatible with Windows and Linux, enabling configuration, control, and monitoring. Additionally, a C/C++ communication library is provided to support custom applications, allowing customers to integrate the SSPDU into their unique operational frameworks.
